Getting Started
Everything you need to know before stepping into the ring. Learn the controls, understand the basic combat loop and start building good habits.
Welcome to the ring
Untitled Boxing Game is built around reading your opponent, managing your stamina and choosing the right moment to attack.
You do not need to memorise complicated techniques immediately. Start by learning the basic controls, understanding when to attack and, most importantly, learning when not to attack.
Basic controls
Light Punch
Your basic attack. Use it to pressure your opponent, start combinations and punish openings.
Heavy Punch
A stronger attack that can be useful for dealing damage and punishing predictable actions.
Block
Protect yourself from incoming attacks. Blocking at the right time can stop your opponent's pressure.
Dash
Quickly reposition yourself, create distance or help avoid an incoming attack.
The basic combat loop
Read
Watch your opponent and look for patterns.
React
Block, dodge or reposition when necessary.
Punish
Attack when your opponent gives you an opening.
Reset
Return to neutral instead of attacking blindly.
What beginners should avoid
Constantly attacking
Throwing attacks without thinking can leave you predictable and vulnerable.
Ignoring your opponent
Do not focus only on your own attacks. Watch what your opponent is trying to do.
Panic dodging
Dodging randomly can make your movement predictable and waste valuable opportunities.
Chasing every opening
Not every opening needs to be punished. Sometimes resetting is the safer choice.
A simple practice routine
Learn your style
Spend time understanding your chosen style's attacks, strengths and weaknesses.
Practice blocking
Focus on recognising attacks instead of trying to win every exchange.
Practice movement
Work on dashing and repositioning without wasting movement unnecessarily.
Fight real opponents
Once you understand the basics, play matches and pay attention to what repeatedly catches you off guard.
